Radiology reporting software: compare the complete workflow

Radiology reporting software helps physicians write, organize and review reports. Laudos.AI turns dictated findings into structured text. The radiologist interprets the images, checks the content and signs the report in the official system. Choose according to the task you need to reduce: typing, formatting or team management.

What type of reporting software do you need?

Editing, speech recognition and text generation are different functions. One vendor may offer all three. Compare what works in the plan and version you will use, not just the category name.

Reuse textEditor, report templates and reusable text.Open your templates and check the effort required to adapt a case with an abnormal finding.
Replace typingSpeech recognition for reporting.Dictate terms, numbers and negations. Count the corrections.
Reduce formattingAI that organizes findings into sections.Compare the dictation with each statement in the generated text.
Standardize team reportingPermissions, templates, support and integration.Test two access profiles and the return to the official system.

How much does reporting software cost?

The individual Pro plan costs BRL 299/month, with up to 1,000 reports per month. The new-user trial ends after 14 days or up to 30 reports, whichever comes first. Institutions receive a written proposal covering scope, integration and pilot terms. See Laudos.AI pricing. Do not compare an individual monthly fee with a proposal that includes institutional deployment.

Include licensing, deployment, equipment, training, support and review work. Also ask about usage limits, exports and contract termination. A low price does not prove a lower total cost; a high price does not prove a clinical benefit.

A trial plan before you buy

  1. Record the baseline. Time dictation, editing and submission separately in the current workflow.
  2. Build a working sample. For an exploratory test, use 20 synthetic or properly de-identified cases. Include the modalities, measurements and corrections your team handles often. This is not clinical validation.
  3. Compare the same content. Use the same findings and templates. Alternate the order of the tools to reduce the effect of familiarity.
  4. Record the errors. Separate omissions, unsupported additions, laterality, measurement and structure errors. Speed does not compensate for a clinical error.
  5. Test delivery. Confirm the text destination, draft status, signature, permissions and fallback workflow.
  6. Define acceptance criteria. The institution sets limits for corrections, time and failures before expanding use.

Do you need to replace your RIS or PACS?

That is not the purpose of Laudos.AI. The software supports report production. Compatibility is not universal: the system, version, text field, authentication and submission method must be validated. Request a demo in your environment and review the integration options.

Measure the benefit without confusing the metrics

Time in the editor is not the service’s total turnaround time. Laudos.AI’s published historical median is 52 seconds from opening the editor to signing, across 5,200 reports completed from April 9 to May 9, 2026. It excludes queues, image acquisition and study transfer. It does not prove causation or predict another team’s result. See the methodology and its limits.

To estimate capacity, use the time difference measured in your pilot: hours freed = monthly reports × minutes saved per report ÷ 60. This is potential time saved, not guaranteed revenue.

Where to start

For typing and formatting, assess the REPORT editor and the voice reporting software. For a team, start with access, templates and integration. Those changing vendors can use the Laudite comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Does the software generate reports automatically?

Laudos.AI generates a structured draft from the findings supplied by the physician. It does not interpret images or release reports autonomously. The radiologist reviews, edits and signs in the official system.

Can I try it before subscribing?

The new-user trial lasts 14 days or up to 30 reports, whichever comes first. Current terms are on the pricing page. Institutional pilots have their own scope and terms.

Does an individual plan cover an entire clinic?

Do not treat an individual license as a team contract. The institution must define users, permissions, integration, support and data rules in the proposal.

Which metric should I use to compare vendors?

Measure editing time, clinical corrections and delivery failures on the same set of cases. Do not rely only on transcription speed or a marketing percentage.
